You’ve heard the terms, you’ve likely heard the negative affects of each. I’ve done the research and hoping that this will serve as a helpful resource for you to better understanding these terms and how you can keep yourself safer from their effects.


Electromagnetic Fields (EMF)

are invisible areas of energy that come from our technology. There are two types: 

Non-ionizing: emit low levels of radiation

Ionizing: emit high levels of radiation

EMF is often referred to as radiation, which is an emission or transmission of energy in the form of waves/particles, through space or a material medium. There are four types:

Electromagnetic: radio waves for television, microwaves, thermal radiation, infrared, cosmic background, UV and x-rays

Acoustic: sound waves

Particle: alpha and beta, neutron in stars and man made nuclear reactors

Gravitational: space time, visible spectrum, wireless technology

If you are sensitive to EMF, it can greatly affect your energy system. EMF exposure can lead to symptoms such as:

  • fatigue

  • joint pain

  • headaches

  • genetic effects

  • cellular and molecular damage

  • behavioral changes

  • effects on nervous system (including neuropsychiatric effects)

  • impaired learning

  • impaired fertility

  • metabolic effects

  • depressed immune system

  • hormonal disturbance

  • sleeping disorders

  • cardiovascular problems (rapid heartbeat and arrhythmia)

  • blood brain barrier damage

Your cell phone is most likely the strongest source of EMF in your life. You carry it around with you all day and even when it is not being used, signals are sent out at a constant. Over 140 proteins in the brain are negatively impacted by exposure to electromagnetic frequencies, the kind emitted by your cell phone and other electronic devices.


So now, what about all the talk on 5G?

5G is the 5th generation wireless technology. It will be 10x faster, more reliable and the signal strength can penetrate through walls. It has a high bandwidth and low latency. 5G also has new higher band of radio frequencies, making it closer to that of a microwave or satellite. 5G has also 100x more radioactive exposure than 4G. If you haven’t already noticed, your cities have already began installing “small cell” towers. These towers are beam forming, with the intention to aim transmission more efficiently to our devices. There are over 300,000 new towers being installed in the US alone, more than what has been installed in the past 3 decades!

Your home state probably has them installed in a very camouflaged way, making it difficult to spot out. In Florida, they’re making them look like fake palm trees. In Arizona, they are building metal cactus trees. And in Colorado and California, they are being hidden behind faux evergreens.

The wireless industry claims that “wireless is safe” however thousands of studies have proven that wireless and EMF radiation in facts creates a harmful biological effect.

In 2016, the US National Toxicology Program published findings from the worlds largest most well designed study on cell phone radiation. They found that there was a carcinogenic effect. To further confirm their findings, they pursued with peer review studies and those studies published in 2018 found that there was clear evidence of cancer from cell phone radiation.

Prior to that, a study by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (a division of WHO) found that regular cell phone use can significant increase the risk of gliomas by 40% within 1640 hours of use. Gliomas are a type of tumor that starts in the brain or spine, most survive 1-3 years after diagnosis.

Continued studying is being undertaken, as reports are mixed. The majority of studies done have been done on rats and some argue that those findings are not comparable to humans. However, 'since 2011 RF radiation has been classified as a Group 2B “possible” human carcinogen by the International Agency on Cancer (IARC), an agency of WHO. Based on the new animal findings, and limited epidemiological evidence linking heavy and prolonged cell phone use with brain gliomas in humans, Fiorella Belpoggi, Director of Research at the Ramazzini Institute and the study’s lead author, says IARC should consider changing the RF radiation designation to a “probable” human carcinogen. Even if the hazard is low, billions of people are exposed, she says, alluding to the estimated number of wireless subscriptions worldwide.’

The evidence is overwhelming.


So with all this evidence, why is nothing being done to limit our exposures and protect our health?

I hate to break it to you, but it seems to all come down to money.

Tens of billions of dollars in profits are expected to be reaped from 5G. 20,000 new satellites are in the works to integrate 5G in a global wireless tracking and surveillance system. With the rate moving this quickly, it’s hard to imagine that much can be done to stop the widespread of it. However, there are three things we can do:

  1. Creating awareness to the mass

    1. Share resources such as this post and the linked resources with your colleagues, friends and families. The more that people are aware, the more that others can do to protect themselves from these harmful effects and hopefully drive more change to reverse the actions being driven to increase our exposure

  2. Liability

    1. Liability because insurance underwriters will not insure the wireless industry. Why? The long term risk assessment of 5G is very high.

  3. Protect and limit exposure

    1. There are a host of things you can do in your life, to protect yourself, your families and community from daily exposure

    2. While it’s difficult to avoid exposure 24/7, the little bit that you do throughout your day can make a drastic difference and help keep you safer from the harmful effects


Here are 7 ways to protect and limit your exposure to EMF and radiation:

  1. Remove heavy metals from your diet

    • This includes mercury in fish, lead in bone broth and arsenic in rice. Cilantro is an incredible herb to help rid the body of toxins and heavy metals. Use fresh cilantro in your cooking and recipes!

  2. Ask your dentist to remove tooth fillers with silver and mercury

    • Metals in our bodies can act as conduits, which can amplify our exposure greatly.

  3. Protect your space

    • Invest in an EMF detection device (available on Amazon, battery operated ones available too)

    • Use grounding mats like this one or get outside and ground your feet in the earth. Grounding helps to heal your emotional body.

    • Get a salt lamp and burn beeswax candles. Both emit negative ions and all of our electrical stuff is positive ions.

    • Fill your space with green plants. Plants are a great way to absorb pollution and cleanse the space.

    • Change up your lighting. Minimize your use of dimmer lights, fluorescent lamps (CFL), smart meters, older LEDs and halogen fixtures. Use incandescent or new halogen incandescent light bulbs.

  4. Reduce your usage

    • Turn off the wifi feature, unless absolutely necessary

      • Use 4G if possible, as it emits much less radiation than LTE or 5G (On an iPhone: settings, cellular, cellular data options, enable let select off)

    • Physically unplug your wifi router at night. This can easily be the most important time to reduce your exposure to EMF

  5. Opt out of wireless

    • If you have a laptop, make sure that the power cord is grounded (meaning it has a 3 pronged plug). If your laptop doesn’t have a grounded power cable, you can purchase one online

    • If you want to take it a step further, permanently switch to a wired internet (ethernet). Use shielded ethernet cables with the metal ends with a grounded ethernet adapter to connect your computers to your ethernet router

  6. Increase your distance

    • For most devices, even a few inches of separation can result in a 99% reduction of exposure

    • Instead of holding your phone next to your head during a call, use speaker or a wired earpiece

    • Turn on airplane mode at night when you sleep and as much as possible during the day

      • When you sleep, there is a recovery period made possible by the release of hormones. Cell phone radiation interrupts the release of these hormones, which upsets your sleep pattern and attacks your immune system

    • Keep your laptops off of your laps

    • Do not carry your phone on your person and reduce your exposure

      • Try an EMF blocking phone sleeve with single sided protection. A single sided protection will maintain your cell signal and connectivity, while protecting your body if it is in your pocket

      • Cell phones are designed to increase their power output when the signal is lower. So in this case, not blocking the signal ironically is safer for exposure

        • For each signal bar missing, your exposure increases several hundred times!

  7. Shield your home

    • Opt out of your electric, water and gas utility’s smart meter program, if possible. If not, use a smart meter guard


Here are 5 ways to nutritionally support your body as it’s exposed to EMF:

  1. Drink more water. EMF dehydrates the body and our bodies cannot detox efficiently without free flowing fluids.

  2. Eat more cilantro. As stated earlier, cilantro helps to remove heavy metals from our bodies.

  3. Use sea salt. Sea salt activates into electrolytes, which allow water to enter and exit our cells allowing for cellular hydration.

  4. Supplement vitamin E (speak with a healthcare professional prior to introducing any new vitamins or supplements). Vitamin E is not found in large quantities in our foods, therefore supplementing is usually best fit here. Otherwise foods that contain vitamin E are almonds, sunflower seeds and broccoli.

  5. Consume bone broth. Bone broth contains the master anti-oxidant, glutathione. Glutathione is key for both defense and efficient detox.

  6. Have mushrooms. Chaga mushrooms are not only the most powerful anti-cancer herb, and also a radiation remover

  7. Choose organic whenever possible. Organic produce has twice the nutritional mineral content versus conventional and less heavy metal residue


The good news is that we have a plethora of options to keep us protected, as best as possible. Even by utilizing just a few of these safe tactics can drastically make a difference in your exposure rate and time, decrease your risk of exposure toxicity and harm and keep you and your loved ones safe.
